Introducing BLUEBIRD MIDWEST

Roger Harvey (White Wives, Dandelion Snow) has an exciting new musical project called Bluebird Midwest. Check out what Roger has to say about his new musical endeavor:

I’m bringing in the New Year with a new set of songs and a new musical outlet, Bluebird Midwest. It’s been a long time coming and I have been doing lots of soul-searching this season to understand exactly where this project exists and where I want to take it in the new year. My writing has evolved quite a bit after a long lacuna from my previous nom de plume, Dandelion Snow. The new songs have taken on many different shapes and sounds. Therefore, I’ve opted for a new beginning and what better day for that than the 1st of the year.

I’ve been wanting to make a record on my own, with the help of some dear friends of mine, and I have been demoing incessantly over the past year. A lot of light has been shed and I feel a lot differently now. The new album will be a collection of songs written during this period of time juxtaposed amongst new material. 2011 was filled with so much change and many unexpected turns.
I’m extremely excited and absolutely nervous to announce my first show w/ some of my dearest Northwest friends Mansions (mansionsmusic.com) in Pittsburgh, January 24th at The Smiling Moose; RSVP here: http://on.fb.me/uGfES6 and get your tickets here: http://ticketf.ly/tTxFKk.
In the meantime, please take the time to “like” Bluebird Midwest on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bluebirdmidwest (and get an exclusive download) and follow along on twitter: @bluebirdmidwest. There will be a lot of exciting news coming down the wires in the near future, so please keep your ears to the ground. xorlh.

New PBC & Rozwell Kid + lots of news!

We are very excited about our two most recent releases here at BBR. Rowdy country rockers Prison Book Club released their self-titled album last week. Check out what Ninebullets.net had to say about it:

Holy fucking shitwas my first thought after giving Prison Book Club’s second album a good and thorough first listen. The second through tenth or so listens didn’t change that opinion and having pretty much had it on repeat for three days hasn’t faded that initial observation…This shit is Essential Listening and right now is the top contender for my album of year slot.

Our other new release lies more on the pop side of things with Rozwell Kid (Jordan Hudkins from The Demon Beat’s revamped Jude Universer project). The hooks are huge, the production is grandiose, and the execution is scary good. Check out what WVRockscene has to say about it:

The songs are even arranged and structured like some of that catchy 90’s stuff; pop type loud-quiet-loud verse-chorus-verse with bouncy, fuzzy bass lines walking you through and holding the songs together in between crashing cymbals, sonically experimental in parts yet with a real, live feel.

In other news, The Demon Beat’s tour in support of Bullshit Walks was a great success, resulting in the first run of both vinyl and CD selling out. A second run of vinyl is now available via their Bandcamp and/or our STORE section. The guys will be out on the road with legendary songwriter David Dondero for a few days soon, so be sure to catch them live!

Also, Roger Harvey aka Dandelion Snow’s new band White Wives (who also played the inaugural BIG BULLET FEST) recently signed to Adeline Records! Congrats to Roger and the boys on this awesome deal!
